Katy Howarth

Katy is a Soprano and has a BMus(Hons) from Birmingham Conservatoire in vocal and operatic studies. Beginning as a member of Wigan Girls Choir (now Laudamus Choir) Katy performed in concerts around the country and later became a member of the North West Early Music Forum (NWEMF) with whom she performed her first solo operatic role as Second Witch in a production of Purcell's Dido and Aenaes.
For 6 years (aged 12-18) Katy sang with the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain. With NYC as a choir member and soloist, Katy performed at venues including the Royal Albert Hall in London, Ripon Cathedral, Harrogate International Centre and many others. As a member of the choir, Katy also took part in the world premier of Karl Jenkins, the Armed Man Millennium Mass for Peace, performed major works including Belshazzar’s Feast at the Royal Albert Hall, performed in the BBC Youth Proms, recorded for Faber Music and appeared live on Classic FM.
Some highlights of Katy’s performances include; solos on Radio Lancashire, BBC Radio 4, Notre Dame Cathedral Paris, Disney Land Paris, and Bridgewater Hall, Manchester.
Katy’s experience has also included performances with renowned artists such as the Soprano Dame Emma Kirkby, Cellist Julian Lloyd Webber, and the world famous Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. In 2002, Katy began her studies at Birmingham Conservatoire and graduated in January 2008.
