Deborah Catterall is the Founder Director of the Laudamus Choirs.
She studied voice at the Royal Northern College of Music, Huddersfield University and Royal College of Music and later taught singing at Chetham's School of Music, Lancaster University, Manchester University and York St John University. In 2008, she was director of Huddersfield University Choir.
As a choral specialist, Deborah was Musical Director of the National Youth Training Choir of Great Britain for five years and singing teacher with them for ten years. Mike Brewer, OBE once described her as ' the best teacher of young people he has ever worked with'.
She is a singer of early music, working closely with lutenist, Martin Eastwell and The York Waits, with whom she has recorded two commercial cds; Christmas Musicke and Yule Riding. She has also recorded on the Naxos label; Under The Greenwood Tree.
She is interested in sound and in guiding her students, choir members and workshop attendees into a true and full sound, reflective of their own vibrant health.
